For tough guys it is of course great to get their own attic room! When both of Sabine's sons were ready for a new room, eldest son Valentijn chose the beautiful attic room with adjoining bathroom. But how do you optimally divide such a space, with many sloping parts? And how do you turn it into an original, cheerful room that can last for years?
Sabine knew: for her boys' rooms she wanted a cheerful, colorful and daring style. Cozy but tough colors and a cool wallpaper. And she was in love with the beautiful furniture from Oliver Furniture. Elina was allowed to make a design for Valentijn's room. The result was a cool boys room!
After studying the possibilities of the space, a custom wardrobe was chosen. This would make optimal use of the space between the door and the dormer window. Elina drew up a design for the wardrobe, in which a combination of doors and drawers was chosen. And because we find displaying personal belongings so important in a child's room, open compartments were placed in the middle of the wardrobe. The wardrobe has become the eye-catcher of the room, and a perfect way to add an extra color to the space. The wardrobe was given a beautiful dark blue color, which was a perfect match with the two types of wallpaper on the long wall in the room.
There was room for a spacious desk under the window and a cozy sleeping area was created under the sloping ceiling. On the long wall, between the two doors, Valentijn has a nice bench with storage compartments. To add a bit of spice to the room, we combined two different types of wallpaper with each other. The wallpaper is interrupted by a wooden decorative strip, which is painted in a green color.
The end result is a cool boys attic room for Valentine, with plenty of room to grow in the coming years. Valentine and Sabine are thrilled with how the room turned out!
